These new cables consist of low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jackets on some of our most popular cables. They are fully recyclable, halogen-free and meet all current environmental standards, including the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, , RoHS and Prop 65. Stuxnet, the computer worm widely believed to have been created by western government agencies to target certain countries' industrial software and equipment, now has some very capable offspring. Some of the "sons of Stuxnet" are malware clearly created from the original Stuxnet virus (such as the Duqu worm). Others, like Flame, appear to borrow techniques from Stuxnet. All are proof positive that any government can potentially commission such an offensive capability. Organized crime groups are showing us they can do the same as well.

We'd like to extend a belated congratulations to Roel Vestjens, who in March assumed the role of President of our Asia Pacific (APAC) operations. He is based in Hong Kong, and brings many years of experience to the role.

Roel joined Belden in 2006 as Director of Marketing for the Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) region. In April 2008, he was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for the Industrial Connecting Solutions business, and in January 2009, he was appointed General Manager of Belden's Wire and Cable Systems business in EMEA. In November 2010, he relocated to Asia and became President of the APAC OEM business. And in mid-March, he began his new duties as President of APAC.

Once again, congratulations Roel!

Paul Kish, Director of Systems & Standards at Belden, be hosting a webinar covering Migration Strategies to 40G & 100G Over Multimode Fiber on May 24, 2012 from 2:00-3:00pm EDT.

This presentation will provide an overview of the cabling requirements for networks operating on 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR10. Attendees will receive guidance on an effective migration strategy to 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet over multimode fiber; optical fiber loss testing for accurate measurements; and the need for low-loss connectors to meet tight insertion loss budgets for 40G and 100G Ethernet links.

What made this event so attractive to our Industrial Solutions Division is the fact that it is co-located with South Pack, Design Manufacturing and a verity of other events including Contract Manufacturing.
