Change to "Open Wiring"
Power and Control Tray Cable: The fourth edition of ANSI/UL 1277, Standard for Safety for Electrical Power and Control Tray Cables with Optional Optical-Fiber Members, has been revised to include a change in the marking for cables previously marked "Open Wiring." The revisions are dated Sept. 19, 2003. These cable will now have the suffix "-ER" added after "Type TC." There is also a change in the requirement for an included grounding conductor in certain cable constructions marked "TC-ER." The effective date for this marking requirement is March 19, 2004.
