We use two kinds of printing on cable: print wheel and ink jet. Print wheel is an engraved wheel which transfers inked writing to the cable as it passes by. It provides excellent detail, and logos or drawings are easy to include. Ink jet printing shoots dots of ink on the cable as it passes by. As it does not require any engraving (as a print wheel) the legend (words, numbers) can be changed quickly. For certain kinds of printing, such as sequential footage numbering, it is the only choice.
