Belden’s St. Louis office is excited to announce a partnership with the American Red Cross to fund a biomedical service vehicle, which distributes blood products to hospitals and cancer treatment centers across the region.

On February 28, Belden’s senior leaders and associates gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating the official launch of the Belden-sponsored vehicle.

In St. Louis, the Red Cross collects approximately 80% of blood products used by healthcare providers in the region. These blood products are used by patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, individuals with sickle cell anemia in need of transfusions, those that are in need of blood during a surgery and others coping with medical concerns.

"The need for blood in our community is constant," said Mary Jane Thomsen, Executive Director, AmericanRed Cross of Greater St. Louis. "We are incredibly grateful to Belden for helping us fulfill our mission to ensure that lifesaving transfusions are available for patients in need."

The Belden-sponsored biomedical service vehicle will be in circulation in the Greater St. Louis region for five years.
