Kristin Bittner and Joshua Goyke, two of Belden's Early Career Leadership Program participants and sales specialists, traveled to Bloomington, Indiana, to represent Belden's sponsorship at Indiana University Dance Marathon's 2nd Annual Day of Hope. Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM) is a student-led organization which fundraises for the Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis.

The Day of Hope is a final push of fundraising for the dancers where the organization tries to raise as much money as possible in 24 hours; the organization's goal was to raise $300,000 ontheDay of Hope which was inspired by the 300,000 patients that will be treated at Riley Hospital for Children of Indianapolis during 2017.

Belden's $5,000 sponsorship supported the Day of Hope inspiration room, where IUDM dancers traded ideas on how to fundraise and keep sight of the purpose. Belden had a booth where dancers could enjoy food and snacks, write letters to fellow IUDM dancers and the doctors at Riley Hospital for Children, and learn about Belden and the internship and ECLP programs.

Patients and families from Riley stopped by throughout the day providing extra motivation for the dancers. Every three hours or so, the dancers would find out how much money they had raised thus far in hopes of reaching –and exceeding –their $300,000 goal. By the end of the day, the organization raised $481,652.

At the end of the effort, IUDM raised a grand total of $4,230,326.
