Ciaran Burns—Vertical Field Application Engineering Manager - Transportation

Ciaran Burns (1)Ciaran Burns has been with Belden's Competence Centre since 2014 and is now the Vertical Field Application Engineering Manager - Transportation, focusing on supporting the sales team to execute and manage complex projects in the EMEA region for the Belden Industrial platform. Other responsibilities include general application engineering  in the UK & Ireland. He gained 7 years of experience in industrial automation and control at West Control solutions, a Danaher company, with various technical and commercial customer-facing roles, most recently as a Custom Solutions Project Manager. Ciaran graduated  in 2005 from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England with a 1st Class Masters in Electronic and Communications Engineering.

Richard Weatherburn—Global Vertical Marketing Manager - Transportation

Ciaran Burns (2)Richard has worked in the Defence and Transportation Industries for over 25 years. Prior to joining Belden in 2012, his experience spanned a variety of electronic design and systems engineering roles as well as programme management. As a programme manager with Siemens, he successfully delivered rail engineering projects across multiple European locations and was the Head of Systems, Product and Portfolio for a Siemens Rail Automation business. At Belden he is the global transportation subject matter expert, responsible for driving application-based marketing and Customer engagement as well as identifying future market trends and sponsoring business case development for the growing transportation product portfolio. Richard holds an Honours degree in Communication Engineering and a Certificate in Engineering Management from Bristol University. He was granted IET Chartered Engineer status in 2004 and is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
