Industrial Cyber Security: Real World Scenarios You Should Know

Free Webinar: Available On Demand

Increasingly, external intruders with malicious intent are gaining access to the control level of industrial networks within critical infrastructure. Too often, these breaches occur quietly with no obvious indicators. In this presentation, cybersecurity and forensic experts share real world cases to illustrate what can be done to protect industrial control systems, endpoints, and networks.

Key takeaways:

  • Understand the fundamentals of industrial cyber security
  • Review real-world compromises of ICS and discover threat indicators within your own environment
  • Gain practical advice for protecting industrial control systems, endpoints, and networks
  • Learn where to focus first, how to sustain progress, and how to get leadership support when circumstances warrant

David Meltzer

Chief Research Officer, Belden

David Meltzer, Belden/Tripwire's chief research officer, has spent the last two decades protecting organizations from the world's most sophisticated cyber attackers. A security entrepreneur and developer, he founded two of the industry's first security vulnerability research groups, Cambia Security and Soncity. Meltzer speaks at industry events on threat intelligence and Industrial Internet of Things topics, and received the Shaping Info Security award in 2006. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ryan Brichant

Ryan Brichant is vice president and CTO of FireEye, responsible for Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Control System (ICS) Security, and Global Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). His 18 years of ICS experience helps customers from around the world better address today's evolving threat landscape. Brichant earned a Bachelor of Science in Management, Computer Information Systems, from Park University, MO. He holds a Master of Science in Cyber Security from the University of Dallas, TX.

Sean McBride

Critical Infrastructure Lead Analyst

Sean McBride has pioneered the multidisciplinary field of threat intelligence for industrial environments. In 2006 at the Idaho National Laboratory he instituted the vulnerability analysis and situational awareness reporting elements foundational to the Department of Homeland Security Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (DHS ICS-CERT).

In 2009 he co-founded Critical Intelligence to help organizations that own and operate electric generating stations, oil refineries, and water plants understand threats to the industrial processes they operate. His company was acquired by iSIGHT Partners in 2015 and iSight Intelligence was later acquired in 2016 by FireEye.

For more than 100 years, customers who have required unsurpassed performance and durability for signal transmission have counted on the Belden brand. In the 20th century, that trust was built on high-performance wire and cable products.

Today, Belden designs, manufactures and sells a comprehensive portfolio of cable, connectivity and networking products for the transmission of signals for data, sound and video applications.
