St. Louis, Missouri – Feb. 28, 2019 – Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications and headquartered in St. Louis, is pleased to announce its partnership with the American Red Cross to fund a biomedical service vehicle in the Greater St. Louis region.

“At Belden, we believe in supporting communities in which our employees live and work,” said Dean McKenna, Senior Vice President Human Resources at Belden Inc. “We’re proud to enable the important work of the American Red Cross, especially their work in the St. Louis community.”
In St. Louis, the Red Cross collects approximately eighty percent of blood products used by healthcare providers in the region. These blood products are used by patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, individuals with sickle cell anemia in need of transfusions, those in need of blood during a surgery and others coping with medical concerns.
"The need for blood in our community is constant," said Mary Jane Thomsen, Executive Director, American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis. "We are incredibly grateful to Belden for helping us fulfill our mission to ensure that lifesaving transfusions are available for patients in need."
The Belden-sponsored biomedical service vehicle will be in circulation in the Greater St. Louis region for five years.
