Belden Recognized for Talent Approach

Corporate Communications

On March 7, Belden was recognized by the St. Louis Business Journal in the publication’s HR Awards for our innovative approach to talent management and succession planning. These awards – in their first year - recognize the important work individuals, companies and organizations do in the field of human resources to make St. Louis-area firms and organizations successful.

Dean McKenna, SVP HR, and Tracey Grimshaw, VP HR Industrial Solutions, were recognized in the online and print feature. Tom Applegarth, VP Total Rewards, accepted the award on behalf of Belden.

As a fast-paced, results-oriented company committed to the setting of transparent goals that drive performance improvements, Belden’s unique talent strategy and succession management plan mirrors the rigor around financial and operational performance. The goal is to attract, develop and retain strong talent.

“To win in business, you need to keep score – and that’s what we do. This includes keeping score on how well we use our hiring opportunities and how well we develop talent,” said Grimshaw. “Succession planning is important, but its execution of the plan that delivers results.”
