Environmental management
At Belden, we seek to minimize our direct environmental impacts by responsibly managing our waste and water use.Recycling
Our first goal is to minimize the amount of waste that we generate. From here, we are focused on increasing reuse and recycling of our waste. We have invested in many projects to realize this goal.
Goal:
By 2025, achieve at least 90% of waste by weight diverted from landfill for manufacturing and distribution locations.

Hazardous waste
Belden Corporate EHS standards mandate proper handling and storage of hazardous waste prior to recycling, reuse or disposal. Hazardous waste management is audited on a regular basis at Belden manufacturing and distribution locations.
Water use
Belden manages water use at its facilities to reduce environmental impacts and cost, including reusing process water when possible. Our corporate standards encourage water conservation practices, which we review as part of our corporate audit program. Water use is an enterprise-wide metric we track to measure our progress.
EHS management systems
Our global Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) is based on the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 international standards. The Belden EHSMS provides a structure for implementing proactive and sustainable business practices to drive continuous improvement while meeting our environmental, health and safety management objectives. Multiple global locations are third-party certified to the ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.

Belden is committed to sourcing raw materials sustainably and ethically across our global supply chain. Belden is committed to designing products that have minimal contaminants and that comply with all environmental laws in the markets where we sell our products, including all applicable international product environmental regulations. We work with customers and suppliers to ensure compliance with these requirements including LEED, RoHS, China RoHS and REACH.

- • We complete the Great Place to Work® survey across the globe annually, allowing us to learn more about what we are doing well as an employer and where we can improve. In 2024, we were recognized as a Great Place to Work in 18 countries.

Early Career Leadership Program
Belden’s Early Career Leadership Program allows recent college graduates to participate in three twelve-month job rotations to develop business acumen and participate in an action-based learning curriculum. Our 12-week internship program gives college students the opportunity to develop their business acumen and learn about Belden’s business through hands-on business projects. Both programs support students from a variety of fields of interest, including marketing, IT, R&D and finance.
ECLP goal:
By 2025, over 200 professionals will have graduated from our Early Career Leadership Program and our intern program. - ✓

Program highlights include: • Up to 5 days paid leave for employee volunteerism. • Increased company gift-matching program amounting to 2x the employee contribution—with no contribution ceiling. • Expanded corporate donations to organizations offering STEM programs for youth in diverse groups.

We expect our business partners to follow all applicable laws and regulations and to share our commitment to environmental stewardship, ethics, health and safety, human rights and labor issues. To ensure suppliers meet these expectations, we've established the Belden Supplier Code of Conduct.

We understand that upholding the highest ethical standards is especially important when it comes to conflict minerals, particularly 3TG (tin, titanium, tungsten and gold). Belden has performed an analysis of our product components and the role our suppliers play throughout our manufacturing and product delivery chain. We've adopted the standard Conflict Minerals Report established by the Responsible Materials Initiative (RMI) and launched our initial conflict minerals due diligence communication survey to our suppliers in 2013. We continue to perform annual due diligence analyses with our 3TG suppliers to ensure the continued integrity of our 3TG supply chain.
