Distributed Antenna Systems

Application Guide

DAS Overview

As outdoor wireless licensed RF signals attempt to move indoors, they don’t travel well through building materials like low-E glass, concrete and steel. These materials can bounce, reflect or completely block signals, resulting in noticeably poor wireless performance. Connectivity issues can also be caused by increased numbers of wireless users and the amount of data they consume.

A distributed antenna system (DAS) conditions, filters and combines wireless outdoor signals with other carrier signals to improve indoor wireless coverage, ensure that signals reach the people and devices inside, and increase capacity.

Belden can help you lay the groundwork for successful, reliable, high-performance delivery of data and power through a DAS. We ensure you have the right copper, fiber or hybrid cabling infrastructure in place to support these systems and provide always-on connectivity.
